Dr. Lu graduated from Peking University  Medical School, and had her residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in USA. She completed her hematology and  oncology fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center.

She has had many awards, including National Cancer Institute individual fellowship award, physician scientist award (K011) from National Cancer institute.

She was invited as the speaker for a personal success කතාව at the annual American College of Physician conference in 1996, elected America’s top oncologist 2012 by Consumers’ Research Council of America.
