A medical visa from Bangladesh to India is granted to people who seek medical treatment in India.
- A medical visa is granted to only those patients whose only purpose in coming to India is to seek medical treatment.
- Patient should be seeking treatment from specialized/reputed health care centers of India
- Up to two attendants can accompany the patient who are closely related with him/her under separate attendant visas whose visa validity will be the same as the medical visa
- Serious ailments like neurosurgery; ophthalmic disorders; heart – related problems; renal disorders; organ transplantation; congenital disorders; gene therapy; radio therapy; plastic surgery; joint replacement, etc will be of primary consideration.

Medical visa document required
Please note that your application should be submitted with the following documents:
- Passport, in original, with a minimum validity of six months as on the date of submission of application for visa. The passport should have at least two blank pages. Copy of the passport (Page no 2 & 3) should be attached. All old passportsmust be submitted with the application form.
- One recent (not less than 3 months old) passport-size colour photograph depicting full face with white background.
- Proof of Residence: A copy of National ID Card and Utility Bill such as electricity, telephone, gas or water bill (not less than 6 month old)
- Proof of Profession: Certificate from the employer. In case of students, copy of Identity card from the educational institution is to be attached.
- Proof of Financial soundness: Endorsement of foreign currency equivalent to US$150/- per applicant (Endorsement should not be older than 1 (one) month at the time of submission) or copy of international credit card or updated bank statement or Travel card (Example – SBI Travel card), as the case may be, showing sufficient balance to finance travel.”
- Online Visa Application form which has both BGD Registration No. and date of appointment with time
- Applicants would be required to scan and upload their photograph in the designated space provided in the online application form.
- Applicants must make sure that their date of birth & place of birth in the current passport matches with the one in the old passport, NID card and / or birth certificate.
- All old passport must be submitted on the date of appointment, without all old passport application will be treat as incomplete.
- Bangladeshi passport holder all categories of Indian visas, except Tourist (T) visas, are accepted on a walk in basis without an online appointment date / E-token.

Medical Visa Information After Your Arrival in India
Visa extension
visa extension is required when a patient needs more time for his/her recovery that goes beyond the departure date from india.in that case the patient needs to produce a letter from the concerned health centre stating his/her ailing treatment and the number of days required by him/her to recover completely to able to go back to his own country. Then the applicant must go to the frro with the letter and the required documents to extend his stay in india.

- Foreign Regional Registration Office controls the registration, departure visa extension and other nuances of the foreign nationals regarding their passports, visa and their stay in India.for frro registration they require: Application form.
- Details of the residence in india.
- Application form.
- Photocopy of the passport and the initial visa.
- Four photographs of the applicant.
The type of photo to be produced is specified:
- Format – jpg
- Size – Maximum 50 KB
- Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open
- Center head within frame and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin
- Background should be plain light colored or white background
- No shadows on the face or on the background
- Bring same photo along with application form.
