About Hospital

The Nanfang-Chunfu Children’s Institute of Hematology & Oncology

The Nanfang-Chunfu Children’s Institute of Hematology & Oncology, referred to as the GoBroad Healthcare (Hematology) Guangdong Research Center, is a medical establishment directed by Professor Chunfu Li. It specializes in hematology research, diagnosis, and treatment; collaborates strategically with the Mayo Clinic; and amalgamates medical care, education, and scientific inquiry.

The facility employs a comprehensive diagnostic system alongside advanced chemical and biomedical technologies to establish systematic diagnosis and treatment protocols for hematological and immune disorders. With 150 standard wards and 36 designated transplant rooms, it has evolved into a prominent global center for pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).

Between July 2018 and November 2023, 1186 patients underwent HSCT at this center. The conditions encompassed hematologic and immune system disorders: thalassemia, juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), aplastic anemia (AA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), immunodeficiency disorders, among others. The technology of haploidentical transplantation, including Tαβ+ Cell Depleted HSCT (TDH), has been effectively established, comprising 69.89% of the total transplants.

The Nanfang-Chunfu Children’s Institute of Hematology & Oncology was prominently featured through numerous selected oral presentations and posters at both the ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition and the Annual Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA). Numerous clinical research findings were disseminated in Blood, Leukemia, and other prestigious academic journals. The pioneering Complementary Transplantation Protocol for thalassemia patients has attained an overall survival (OS) rate of 97.6%, the highest outcome for thalassemia transplantation globally.
