Dr. Chitose Ogawa is among the opinion leader and best pediatric oncologist in Japan.
She is a chair of the Japan Children’s Cancer Group (JCCG) Early-Phase Clinical Trial Committee. She has been working in NCCH since 2013. Her research field is development of new treatments for pediatric and adolescent patients with hematologic or solid malignancies including chemotherapy, multidisciplinary treatment, immunotherapy, and translational research.
The Department of Pediatric Oncology of NCCH is one of the leading institutes to develop new agents for children with malignancies in Japan. Not only primary but also many relapse/refractory patients with leukemia, lymphoma, osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, retinoblastoma, neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and other soft tissue sarcomas were admitted every year from all over Japan. Other research activities of the department are to establish new standard treatments. In phase III studies, international collaboration was implemented, such as IntReALL2010 for relapsed ALL with International BFM Study Group (I-BFM) in Europe and AHEP0731 for hepatoblastoma with Children’s Oncology Group (COG) in the USA.
