Smoke-Free Hospital
Sunway Medical Centre is designated as a smoke-free hospital in order to create a healthy and safe environment for our patients, visitors and employees. We fully adhere to regulations set out by the Ministry of Health, Food and Tobacco Act, Occupational Safety & Health Act, and Factory & Machinery Act in ensuring all premises within the hospital remain smoke-free. In addition, sale of tobacco products is not allowed in the hospital. We are also a Blue Ribbon certified partner. The Blue Ribbon campaign was first introduced by WHO (World Health Organisation) to ministries of health as an initiative to support the WHO Framework Convention on protection from exposure to tobacco smoke.
Sunway Medical Convention Centre
The highlight of Sunway Medical Centre includes a convention centre – aptly named the Sunway Medical Convention Centre. The multipurpose hall seats up to 500 pax and has audio-visual linkage with two of the new operating theatres to enable live telecast of surgical procedures. Video-conferencing facilities are also available upon request.
International Services

- We are a member of the Malaysian Health Tourism Council and we provide a range of services including interpreters in Indonesian, Arabic, Mandarin and Japanese, assisting patients in admission and discharge of patient, booking of hotel, necessary medical documents and medical transfer to Malaysia.
Collaborations
- Sunway Medical Centre has signed two agreements with University of Cambridge and Royal Papworth Hospital to collaborate on clinical services, research and training and their Clinical Research Centre was appointed as a regional site partner by School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge.
- Sunway Medical Centre collaborates with Harvard Medical School in the Southeast Asia Healthcare Leadership Programme (SEAL) for emerging healthcare leaders to gain access to world’s leading authorities in safety, quality, complex organizational management and health leadership to emerging healthcare leaders.
