After designated as a “demonstration hospital for home health care” from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in April 1994, the Severance Hospital has run the Department of Home Health Care.
To formulate a basic framework for home health care by developing and settling down home health care in Korea, the Research Institute for Home Health Care in College of Nursing, Yonsei University has been doing research related to home health care and holding many academic activities such as international and national conferences, seminars, and workshops since 1992. Furthermore, this Institute launched a Center for Home Health Care in 1992 and published an Operational Manual for Home Health Care. As Severance Hospital was designated in July 1993 as a demonstration hospital for home health care, home health care service is transferred from Research Institute for Home Health Care to Severance Hospital in April 1994.
