Facilities
To better provide for the health and well-being of our patients, Rambam is currently going through a far-reaching construction undertaking that commenced in 2007, after the Second Lebanon War (and in part a direct response to lessons learned from that wat). First to be built was the 2000-bed Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital (a 1,500 space parking lot in peacetime that seamlessly converts to a hospital within 72 hours). The above-ground complex includes Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital, along with two important facilities currently under construction: Helmsley Health Discovery Tower and Eyal Ofer Cardiovascular Hospital. Completion of this infrastructure will help Rambam remain at the forefront of national and international achievements in patient care and medical teaching and research. These new facilities represent the latest and most advanced innovation in hospital planning and design, providing Rambam with the capacity to serve the growing community of northern Israel well into the future.
