Services Offered
Cancer Centre @ PHKL is an outpatient centre that provides comprehensive treatment to cancer patients with emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach. Before any treatment, the centre offers counselling sessions for both the patient and family members to help them understand the process of oncology treatment and after-therapy care.
The Cancer Centre @ PHKL houses the Pantai Cancer Institute where it performs clinical trials approved by appointed government bodies. These trials consist of investigator-initiated studies, collaborations with government bodies and projects funded by pharmaceutical companies. Patients who are eligible may choose to participate in clinical trials at any stage of the drug development.
The centre offers:
i) Specialist Clinic
Professional consultation is provided by the clinical or medical oncologist. These sessions can help our patients better understand the treatment process before making any decisions.
ii) Chemo Daycare
Services include:
- Chemotherapy drugs
- Insertion of non-coring needle
- Blood transfusion
- Procedures such as injections, dressings, antibiotics via IV, etc.
- Health education for patients and family members during and after completion of treatment
iii) Radiotherapy
Services include:
- External Beam Radiotherapy including palliative, radical, 3D conformal treatment, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), radiosurgery and fractionated stereotactic radiation therapy
