Dr. Vijaya Sangkar Hematology

Dato’ Dr Vijaya Sangkar was awarded the University Malaya’s Senate Book Prize and Kind Edward’s College Alumni Medal for distinction in MBBS.

He joined the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for post graduate internal medicine training and obtained the Membership of Royal College of Physicians, UK. He developed interest in haematology and pursued further advanced haematology training which encompassed clinical pathology and stem cell transplantation at the prestigious Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research, Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He passed the Fellowship of The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia examinations and was awarded the FRCPA (Haem) degree.

He is actively involved in post graduate internal medicine and haematology teaching, whereby he is regularly invited to give lectures. He has co-authored several national clinical practice guidelines. He is currently a life member of Malaysian Society of Haematology and a member of the Malaysian Academy of Medicine.
