Dr. Takahiro Fukuda is among the top doctor for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Japan. He is from department of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation at National National Cancer Centre, Japan. The Department of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) is one of the leading institutes for allogeneic or autologous HSCT. Seven staff physicians (Drs. Kim, Kurosawa, Fuji, Inamoto, Tanaka, Ito and Fukuda) participate in the transplant program in collaboration with Cell Processing Team for HSCT. In 2016, a total of 101 transplantations were performed for patients with hematologic malignancy including leukemia akut and lymphoma. At the weekly 12B ward meeting, all HSCT patients are reviewed in detail by all transplant team members including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, the nutritional support team, clinical research coordinators, and the transplant coordinator. Our transplant team has been focusing on the development of comprehensive cellular immunotherapy, including a reduced-intensity stem cell transplant for elderly patients. We have done 3 clinical trials for approval of new drug application.
