Dr. Edwin P. Alyea berspesialisasi dalam merawat pasien kanker darah yang sedang mempertimbangkan transplantasi sel punca atau sumsum tulang. Selama 20 tahun terakhir, telah terjadi kemajuan substansial dalam transplantasi, yang menghasilkan hasil yang lebih baik. Kemajuan ini termasuk kapasitas untuk memanfaatkan dosis kemoterapi yang lebih rendah untuk mengurangi toksisitas pada pasien, serta metode untuk mengurangi kemungkinan kambuh. Saya tertarik untuk menggunakan obat-obatan dan teknik baru untuk meningkatkan hasil setelah transplantasi sel punca untuk keganasan darah. Sangat penting untuk berkolaborasi dengan pasien untuk menentukan tujuan perawatan mereka dan tindakan terbaik.
